Postmark of China - Shanxi

Postmarks from China are always clear and nice. I really enjoy looking at these beautiful postmarks. Below are a small collection of postmarks from Shanxi province of China.

Firefly 50s - Flaw

I obtained a sheet 50s (Lychnuris sp.) firefly with perforation flaw. The vertical perforations are slightly shifted to the left (about one pin hole).

Below is a cover using a PAM label produced by machine 002 from GPO Kuantan, Pahang on May 13, 2010. The cover was cancelled at Kuantan Mail Centre.

Palm Tree Miniature Sheet - Flaw

The miniature sheet of palm tree issue (released on May 19, 2009) has a L-shape stamp. The process of perforating on the L-shape stamp in the miniature sheet could be a tedious job, and this could create flaw (perforation shift). Below is one of the examples of perforation shift for the L-shape stamp. I strongly believe that some of you might possess even more "serious" perforation shift for this miniature sheet.

2010 - Fireflies

Pos Malaysia released a set of mint stamps and a miniature sheet on May 10, 2010. These stamps and miniature sheet depict fireflies. A total of four firefly species were depicted on the stamps and the miniature sheet - Pteroptyx valida, Pteroptyx bearni, Diaphanes sp. and Lychnuris sp. I am personally not in favour of the stamp design because the background colour of the stamps is too dark, and this is definitely not too good for postage use to get clear postmark cancellation on the stamps. I always like white background design when come to stamps depicting living organisms (plants, flowers, insects, birds etc.).

Mel Rakyat - Colour Shift

The Mel Rakyat released on April 26, 2010 has a pre-printed 30-sen stamp of logo image of 1-Malaysia. Colour shift has been record for the printing of Mel Rakyat. It looks like the blue and red colours were either shift left or right. Check your Mel Rakyat to see if you have also possessed the colour-shift copies!
