Malaysia - Registered Mail Label with Surcharge
please kind correct me if there is any mistake in the information provided
Below shows a registered mail label used in Malaysia. Two black-inked blocks appear on the label - one is on the top right corner and the other is on bottom left of the top portion of the label. The top black-inked area at the top masks the word "Track on 1" and the lower black-inked area masks the word "RM1.30". So, it seems that this label is printed originally for Track on 1 (priced at RM1.30), but it has been altered to Track on 5 pricing at RM1.00. The wordings of Track on 5 and RM1.00 appear at the bottom of the label. Registered mail label for domestic mail (track-on 1) is of red colour as shown in the label below, and other types of registered mail labels will have different colour. However, this red-colour label was adopted (for some reasons) the use of track-on 5 (for the purposes of registered mail on traffic summons).
Pos Malaysia uses different track-on numbers for different types of registered mail. There are so far 8 different types of track-on (1-8):
Track-on 1: domestic mail with prefix RD
Track-on 2: international mail with prefix RR
Track-on 3: haj baggage and Air Zam Zam with prefix CZ/CB
Track-on 4: Pos Malaysia matter with prefix RS
Track-on 5: traffic summons with prefix RP
Track-on 6: traffic summons with prefix RP
Track-on 7: Advice of Receipt (AR) mail with prefix RA
Track-on 8: domestic mail with prefix RY
