This is ONG

Wow, the postmark below has so many 9 (five normal 9)! There is also an inverted 9 in the postmark! In other words, the postmark contains five upright 9 and one inverted 9. The denomination of the postage stamp is also 9! The stamp depicts a dog - the pronounciation of dog in Cantonese is similar to 9. This is really ONG! hehehehehe.....

What do you want?

Have you asked yourself what do you want in your life, or what are you looking for in your life? Oh..... I want happiness..... Oh, I want a lot of money..... Oh, I want a lot of love.... Oh, I want this and I want that..... Oh...........

Anyway, I quite like the stamp issue from Thailand released some time early of this year (April 23, 2010). The stamp set portrays three Chinese gods - one for happiness (right most), one for prosperity (middle) and one for longevity (left most).

Actually, Macau Post also released similar stamps much earlier (May 9, 1994).

from left to right: longevity, prosperity and happiness

When I was young........

I started to collect stamps when I was in primary school - standard four. One day our teacher asked us a question why stamp collecting is a good hobby (believe me stamp collecting was one of the hot hobbies at that time). With our innocent faces, we gave these answers:

- I can learn about the geography and countries of the stamps.
- I can gain knowledge on the subjects of the stamps.
- I can make many friends through stamp exchange.

If I were to turn back time, with my very innocent face and I would answer the teacher......
- I see money when I see stamps.

hahahahahahahaha

Bits and Pieces......

I've been lazy lately to update my blog. Perhaps I haven't got much to write or share these days. I have been indulging myself a bit more on dragonflies for the last couple of months. Yeah, it is something that I have so much passion apart from stamps.

I am thinking to sell out some of my stamps. I have some nice perforation and watermark varieties to be let go. Maybe I will put up the selling lots/items here in this blog from time to time...... hehehehehe
