The first version of Royal Visit sheetlets carry the wording "Lawatan Diraja (Putera William & Kate)" at the gutter of the stamp sheetlets (see below image). The gutter of this first version stamp sheetlets was removed before the stamps were sold at the postal counters nationwide. However, some first version stamp sheetlets escaped the fate of being torn in some post offices. You may click here to read more about the difference of the first version and second version of the Royal Visit sheetlets.
At one time the first version sheetlet (two sheetlets in a set) was listed in eBay at a price of RM2700. Of course the eBay lot did not attract any bidder. Subsequently, two lots were/are being listed in eBay at prices of RM668 and RM1000. Yet, these lots have not attracted any bidder. However, I was learnt that someone had bought a sheetlet set privately from the eBay seller (who listed RM2700) at a price far below RM2700.
Anyway, I was wondering how much this first version sheetlet is worth? I am holding a poll to seek the opinion of the visitors of my blog on the price of this first version sheetlet should be tagged. Well, I put >RM600 as the top price in the poll because it was/is listed in eBay at RM668 (yet to get any bidder). So, let say you have not got this first version sheetlet, and you are very keen to buy it. How much are you willing to pay for it?
The poll will end on 5 November 2012.

The 2012 Royal Visit Sheetlets
The Royal Visit stamp issue was released on 13 September 2012. On the day of issue, all the stamp sheetlets were torn (the gutter between the stamps in sheetlet was removed) before the stamps were sold at the postal counters nationwide (with a few exceptions). Many stamp collectors (those collect stamp sheets) were furious on this unexpected act of tearing stamp sheetlets by Pos Malaysia.
Actually, there were two versions of sheetlets being printed for this issue, and both the versions were available on the day of issue. The first version sheetlet with wordings "Lawatan Diraja (Putera William & Kate) was being torn the gutter in most post offices nationwide; the second version sheetlet with wordings "Lawatan Diraja/Royal Visit" was only sold at GPO KL on the day of issue (limiting three sheetlets per customer). Those SODA members and dealers ordering sheetlet were provided the second version sheetlet.
I was made to understand that there was no reprint on the sheetlet. The printing quantity of sheetlet remains the same as planned. The Printer was in the middle of printing the sheetlet (first version), and Pos Malaysia directed the Printer to stop printing immediately until a corrected wording plate was provided. The Printer only continued printing the balance quantity (second version) after receiving corrected wording plate.
The sheetlet has become a hot item, and everyone was looking for it. Pos Malaysia did not have enough sheetlets (second version) to supply to post offices nationwide. The first version sheetlet is now become an "rare" item, and the second version sheetlet is on high demand. What a mess done by Pos Malaysia.....

Paphiopedilum sanderianum
I was at Mulu National Park a month ago. One of the things being talked about is the famous rare orchid Paphiopedilum sanderianum endemic to Mulu National Park. This orchid species grows well at the cliff of limestone. There is a postage stamp issued by Pos Malaysia in 2003 to depict this wonderful orchid species. I also found a very nice postcard showing this orchid species.

2012 - 750 Years of Melaka
The stamp issue entitled "750 Years of Melaka" was released on 7 Oct 2012 (Sunday). However, post offices nationwide only sold the philatelic products of this stamp issue on 8 Oct 2012 (Monday). The stamp issue was released in conjunction of a stamp exhibition organised by Philatelic Society of Malaysia on 7-13 Oct 2012 in Melaka, and the stamps started being sold on 7 Oct 2012 at the stamp exhibition venue. This stamp issue comes with a set of two stamps and a miniature sheet. In additional to these, an overprint miniature sheet was also released. However, this overprint miniature sheet was only sold at the exhibition stamp, not post offices nationwide.

Dragon Cinderella
Pos Malaysia gave away this dragon cinderella to SODA holders. It is really a very thoughtful of Pos Malaysia to make SODA holders delighted. I must say that Pos Malaysia is doing a very good trick in creating more business in future... hihi.
