MAHA 2024 - Paper Fan with Stamp and Cancellation

The MAHA 2024 Expo was held at MAEPS Serdang on 11-22 September 2024. A set of stamps was issued on 14 September 2024 to commemorate the event. Souvenirs were sold by the event organizer. One of the souvenirs is paper fan. The paper fan has the MAHA 2024 official logo. I created "maxicards" using the stamps and the Pos Malaysia cancellation for the MAHA 2024. Pos Malaysia has a temporary counter for the event.

Malaysia Day 2024 Stamp Design

Malaysia Day 2024 - Stamp Design

Pos Malaysia released a single stamp on 16 September 2024 to commemorate Malaysia Day 2024 (see image below). Generally, the stamp looks nice – colourful with many elements. The only drawback (my personal view) is that the stamp is crowded with too many elements/images. It would be better to have a longer stamp to spread out the elements/images.

Malaysia Day 2024 stamp

According to the leaflet of the official first day cover, the stamp was designed by loka made. The design of the stamp is basically based on the design of a panoramic postcard by loka made. The postcard labelled as Festivals of Harmony was used to design the Malaysia Day 2024 stamp. Actually, the postcard (Festivals of Harmony) was released by loka made in September 2023 (according to the date of Facebook post to announce the postcard in loka made Facebook) for the purpose of Malaysia Day 2023 celebration. loka made promoted the postcard in its Facebook by posting out the postcard using the Malaysia Day 2023 stamp. loka made reprinted the Festivals of Harmony postcard in 2024 (see image below). The 2024 postcard is slightly different (wordings) at the back of the postcards though the front image reminds the same.

All the buildings and structures in the Malaysia Day 2024 stamp can be seen/found in the Festivals of Harmony postcard. However, some of the buildings and structures in the postcard were omitted in the stamp. The buildings and structures in the stamps are Penang Bridge, KL Tower, Petronas Twin Towers, Sultan Abdul Samad Building, Tiang Bendera Jalur Gemilang Dataran Merdeka, Merdeka 118, Sarawak State Legislative Assembly Building, Mt. Kinabalu and Tun Mustapha Tower (Yayasan Sabah). The people characters in the stamps are also spotted in the postcard. However, one additional people character was added on the stamp – the Punjabi wearing white dress (second from the right). This Punjabi character is nowhere to be found in the postcard. I guess it must be the request of Pos Malaysia to add this people character in the stamp design.

2024 - ASEAN Post: General Post Office

Pos Malaysia released a single stamp with denomination RM1.30 on 8 August 2024 on the topic "General Post Office". The stamp depicts the building of General Post Office KL. The General Post Office KL building is located at Dayabumi Complex and was inaugurated in 1984. This stamp issue is actually part of the joint issue of the ASEAN postal authorities.

2024 - Malaysia Day

This single stamp was issued on 16 September 2024 to commemorate Malaysia Day 2024. The stamp was sold national wide at post offices on 17 September 2024 because 16 September 2024 was a public holiday. However, Pos Malaysia had a temporary booth at MAHA 2024 Expo at MAEPS Serdang which operated on 16 September 2024. The stamp was available at the Expo on 16 September 2024. The stamp was designed by loka made

One unique thing about the stamp is the use of fluorescent security mark for the stamp. The fluorescent mark may be viewed under uv light. Four types of fluorescent marks were employed on the stamps (see images below). Therefore, for serious collectors four different stamps are applied here due to the four different patterns of fluorescent marks.

Maximum Card - Malaysia Day 2024

This maximum card is realized by using a loka made postcard with a stamp from Malaysia Day 2024 issue. The cancellation of the maximum card is done using FDC special postmark of Malaysia Day 2024 from Kuala Lumpur.
