The Story of Two Post Offices

I posted a couple of days ago an entry on a domestic registered cover sent from Kompleks Perhentian Kajang Post Office. This registered cover reminds me something about the post office...........

The Kompleks Perhentian Kajang Post Office located in the main building of the Kajang Bus Station was opened on January 22, 2001. Actually, this "new" post office was originally from Jalan Bukit Kajang Post Office. The Jalan Bukit Kajang Post Office was located at a shophouse along Jalan Bukit in Kajang town. So,when the day Komopleks Perhentian Kajang Post Office started its business, the day Jalan Bukit Kajang Post Office ended its business. All the staff and document from Jalan Bukit Kajang Post Office were moved to Kompleks Perhentian Kajang Post Office. This can be seen on the registered cover below sent on February 2, 2001 from Kompleks Perhentian Kajang Post Office. The registered cover bears the postmark of Kompleks Perhentian Kajang Post Office but the registered label is still of that of Jalan Bukit Kajang Post Office.

Komp Hentian Kajang K2; date: February 2, 2001

Well, I am luck to have two registered covers (see below) sent from Jalan Bukit Kajang Post Office before it moved to the new location (become Kompleks Perhentian Kajang Post Office). One cover with Jln Bukit Kajang printed on the registered label and the other without the name of the post office printed on the registered label. Both the covers carry postmark of Jalan Bukit Kajang (one with K1 and the other one with K2 marks).
