One of the most variable stamps in terms of perforation and watermark is the 20 sen stamp (Fig. 1) of the issue of 50th World Children's Day released on October 11, 2003. Five varieties (combination of watermark and perforation) have been recorded by myself. The most interesting part is the printing of two different sheet formats of this 20 sen stamp. The 20 sen stamp was initially (for the first day of issue) printed in format of sheet-of-20 (Fig. 2). Later on, the stamp was printed in format of sheet-of-25 (Fig. 3). These two formats of sheet have different perforation and watermark. Stamps from sheet-of-20 have P12 and P13.5 perforation and they are SPM watermarked. On the other hand, stamps from sheet-of-25 have P13 perforation and they are POST OFFICE watermarked. It was said that the 20 sen stamps in sheet-of-25 were printed to be used as postage because the Agro-based definitive 20 sen stamps were in shortage. To add more fun to the 20 sen stamp, the booklet stamp has P12.5 perforation. Below is the list of the varieties and their sources.
List of varieties:
1) P13.5; SPM side way down - source: sheet-of-20
2) P12; SPM side way down - source: sheet-of-20
3) P12.5; SPM side way down - source: booklet
4) P12.5; SPM side way up - source: booklet
5) P13; POST OFFICE side way up - source: sheet-of-25
There could be other varieties different from those listed above. I'm happy to be informed.
