This is a hot stamp issue. The miniature sheet was sold out by noon of the day of issue in almost every post office throughout the country. The GPO Kuala Lumpur was particularly critical for the miniature sheet. I was told that the miniature sheet at GPO Kuala Lumpur was sold out within one hour of sale eventhough each customer was limited for five copies. So, the miniature sheet would be following the path of Aga Khan stamp to become an "expensive" item! The RM1 stamp was also in shortage, by afternoon of the day of issue the RM1 stamp was sold out at GPO Kuala Lumpur.
The funny thing is that the stamp booklet is not as hot as the RM1 stamp and the miniature sheet. From the past experience, stamp booklet was always a hot item. However, it is not the case for this train stamp booklet.
The miniature sheet has two types of watermark - upright and inverted. The upright watermark is less common compared to the inverted one. Well, many collectors couldn't be bothered by the watermark varieties as many of them even couldn't get a single piece of miniature sheet from the post offices!
There will be an overprint of the miniature sheet for Bangkok 2010 (on conjunction of stamp exhibition in Bangkok, Thailand). The overprint miniature sheet will be released in August 2010.
